Journalist Frank Cairo, son of Cuban parents was born in Miami March 5 although he spent part of his childhood in Dallas, Texa. He Graduated in psychology from St. Thomas University. But it was the career of his cousin, the talented and successful actress and singer, Raquel Olmedo, who inspired him when Cairo lived in Mexico where he discovered that within his soul passion for the world of entertainment and art was very much part of who his although family members where not happy of his decision, Frank Cairo followed his heart and began his journey.
In 1982, he started as a TV host at Telemiami with his own show "Juventud Miami" a program directed to a young audience filled with music both in english and spanish ." His bold interviews and personality attracted big stars such as Celia Cruz and Johnny Ventura as well as many American rock groups, he was able to stand out as a TV host with a unique personality and gained credibility as a respected journalist, this was the beginning of his successful career at a very young age.
Soon Telemundo's National Network, hired him to be the reporter of "PREMIERES and STARS"a prime time show where the journalist interviewed the biggest stars from Mexico. In 1989, the production team of the Univision Network was incorporated, releasing "The Cristina Show" and he become the star producer for his work, the show received the first Emmy nomination thanks to his own merits, in the early 90's he was again chosen as one of the producers to work with Cristina Saralegui to launch its Talk Show in English for CBS where he produced one season.
In 1992 Frank Cairo returns to Telemundo as the executive producer of the talk show “Maria Laria ̈ where he won two Emmy Awards. He also created and served as Executive Producer for the pilot of "THE SHOW OF PETER SEVSEC" a renown journalist for all Latinos. Frank Cairo became the talk show guru at the time.
In 1996 he was called to be a consultant to the President of Guatemala, Alvaro Arzu, during his election campaign, and later became the general producer for various programs for MGM Latin America.
In 1998 he returned to Univision as the producer of "The Cristina Show" and "Primer Impacto", where he presented an exclusive interview with Ernestina Sodi's, sister of international singer and actress Thalia, who was the victim of one of the kidnappings in Mexico that made constant headlines within all the international press.
In 2006 he joins "MEGA TV" national network and radio becoming the executive producer, creator and host of "PAPARAZZI". The first program of entertainment that had a panel of journalists where topics of entertainment for the Hispanic market, where debated in an intelligent manner-which earned him an Emmy award. Frank used the phrase at the end of each show "Celebrate Life" which became a house hold word from coast to coast and brought inspiration to many.
Following the great success of "PAPARAZZI" he creates and produces "Xpediente" a program of criminal investigation of cold files, he also starts with his own, one on one interviews with the most important celebrities of the Latino world "ALONE WITH FRANK CAIRO" The company president Cynthia Hudson who now leads CNN “EN ESPANOL” Promoted Cairo as the Executive Creative Producer for all programing in the network.
In 2009, Frank Cairo surprises the audience as an actor, interpreting a character in the independent film, "TWICE ANA", directed by the renown director Sergio Giral his outstanding character was creditably appraised.
In August 2010, Frank returned to MEGA TV as a producer and host of a new spinoff of the original paparazzi that had brought so much success not only to Cairo but to the network , "PAPARAZZI MAGAZINE".
In January 2011, Frank Cairo leaves Paparazzi Magazine (Mega TV) program and sighns a contract with TV Azteca, the second most important Network in Mexico and Latin America. Cairo became an exclusive talent during the two-year contract where he made his showbiz program "FRANK CAIRO unscripted", reaching the largest ratting of the network with a Special with Cristina Saralegui as she revealed for the first time why she was fired from Univision .
In 2013 he returned to his native Miami and begins to transmit in Telemiami his unscripted program with more international figures.
2014 America TV and its sister chain Te Veo summons him to take the program to their station, this time accompanied with a special co host the the Young and talented Primo Cruz. Known for his great success on American TV as swell as his singing. They both had an incredible chemistry, which the audience loved; both Frank Cairo and Primo Cruz finished a very successful season.
In his restless spirit and his boundless talent, Frank Cairo will surprise us with a new project. The publication of his book of poetry "The Enchanted Forest", which will include some of his paintings as illustration.
At present, the popular journalist is preparing to launch one of the most important projects of his career going to the American market through the FM radio in the Television Company power house FM. Which will reach millions of homes worldwide.
